Nicox selects OptiMed as distributor in Australia and New Zealand

Nicox has expanded its international distribution network by signing a deal with Australian firm OptiMed to distribute its AdenoPlus and the Xailin range in Australia and New Zealand.

The latest deal follows similar third-party deal already established with Nitto Medic in Japan for the distribution of AdenoPlus.

The company has also established similar deals in Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Poland, Turkey and several South African nations.

Nicox Pharma European and International Operations executive vice-president managing director Philippe Masquida said: "Ourinternational product revenues are beginning to grow rapidly as we expand our network of best-in-class partners.

Currently, the pharmaceutical firm promotes AdenoPlus and the Xailin range via its own sales force in the five main European markets including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Excluding the distribution deal with Nitto Medic, which completely targets AdenoPlus, other distribution agreements are focussed on a full range of Nicox products both promoted and in development including severalin vitrodiagnostic medical devices in-licensed from RPS suchas AdenoPlus to support the differential diagnosis of acute conjunctivitis.

The deals also include distribution of Xailin, which comprises a range of tear lubricants for to relieve dry eye symptoms; in addition to future products from Nicox’s internal development project.

Since the start of 2014, the company has collaborated with well-established local players in over 10 countries.

Masquida added: "We expect distribution partnerships to play a key role in our revenue growth in both established and fast-growing emerging markets."
