NIH awards funding to Labcyte for biomarker validation program

Labcyte, a global life science instrumentation company, has secured $196K funding from the National Cancer Institute under National Institute of Health (NIH), for cancer biomarker validation program with the Canary Center of Stanford University.

The program intends to develop an advanced system for early cancer detection by employing acoustic liquid handling for arraying and MALDI mass spectrometry preparation.

Stanford University Canary Center for Cancer Early Detection Director Mark Stolowitz said the project could drive the biomarker validation process significantly.

"Labcyte’s acoustic liquid handling is an enabling technology that will allow us to speed up the validation process with its precise, accurate and contamination-free liquid transfer system," Stolowitz added.
