Spar, GlaxoSmithKline sign $4.5m in-store merchandising contract

Spar Todopromo, the Mexican subsidiary of SPAR Group, has signed an $4.5m contract with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to provide in-store merchandising, demonstrations and auditing of its pharmaceutical products nationwide.

Under the contract, SPAR, which is providing in-store merchandising and demonstrative services to marquee clients such as Grupo Herdez, McCormick, BIC, Tramontina, Epson, Levi Strauss, Olympus and 20th Century Fox, will offer in-store merchandising, demonstrations and auditing for 6,700 locations throughout Mexico.

Spar Todopromo chief executive officer Juan Medina Staines said the contract will focus on merchandising efforts for GSK’s products in grocery and pharmaceutical stores.

"SPAR’s ability to track field employees and provide real-time in-store execution information via our proprietary inventory solution was paramount in securing this contract and providing superior service," Staines added.

"This $4.5 million combined with the recent announcement of our $2.5 million contract with a Fortune 500 company continue a strong profitable revenue base for our international business."

GSK is a British-based developer, manufacturer, and marketer of pharmaceutical products.
